Online Music Classes for Kids of All Ages

Fun programs with inspiring instructors!

SCHEDULE MY FIRST CLASS

Sometimes, it’s hard to fit in music lessons.

Many parents want their children to study music. But sometimes it’s challenging to fit in classes when you already have a demanding schedule.

We are here to help you and your family achieve your goals with our online classes guided by one of our experienced and fun instructors!

Learn piano in the comfort of your home!

Rather than watching video lessons, we believe there is no replacement for working with an instructor who can customize the lessons to the student’s learning needs.

Learning music at home also provides a familiar environment for children while supporting musical independence. In no time at all, you will be hearing beautiful music throughout your home!

Share songs with friends and relatives from anywhere

Take part in our “living room concerts” where you can play songs for friends and relatives from around the world! It’s exciting to be able to regularly share your accomplishments with others and to gain experience in becoming more comfortable performing.

Siva

We as parents consider ourselves lucky in having a gifted pianist who is greatly recognized in the field to be the mentor for Supraja. With your continued support and encouragement, we are confident she will reach aspired levels.

Vincci Nicholson

Ms. Sarah is very knowledgeable with piano and music! She brings great energy and vibrant personality to every class. My kids, 11 and 6, are progressing very well in her class.

Sudhakar

Thank you for all that I have learned from you. You are an excellent piano instructor and I am glad my son is also continuing to learn from you. Thank you once again!

What Students Will Learn

  • Sight Reading

Note and rhythm recognition are strengthened through sight-reading exercises.

  • Fun Songs

Students have the opportunity to learn both new and familiar songs. We also supplement curriculum books with music students would like to learn.

  • Scales and Chords

Even before students can read staff notes, scales and chords are introduced to understand relationships between keys and chords in music. Students gain a lot of confidence in playing when they repeat and practice scales and chords.

  • Music Theory/fun sheets

Students learn more about intervals, note recognition, and more through simple theory exercises and fun sheets.

  • Phrasing/Expression

We emphasize phrasing in music right away so students can learn how to play expressively.

  • Music History

Basic information about composers and time periods are included in the curriculum.

  • Ear Training

Simple ear training exercises are included to help students engage listening skills to identify and replicate patterns and notes.

  • Composition

Basics of composition are studied and eventually, students have the opportunity to begin writing their own melodies and chords.

FAQ

Are online music lessons effective?

As long as the internet connection is adequate on the student side (at least 15 mbps), there is very little difference between online and in-person classes. With our camera angles, excellent audio, patient teachers, and fun curriculum, classes can be just as effective online as they are in person.

What age is best for starting piano lessons?

Some parents and teachers believe that a student needs to be at least 7 years of age to start classes. In our over 30 years of teaching experience, we firmly believe that most students should begin much earlier. We have seen 3 and 4 year-olds learn very effectively with the assistance of a parent. By starting at an even earlier age, students gain many advantages, especially when learning is associated with fun activities.

My young child wants to take singing lessons. What age can children begin singing classes?

We think all children benefit greatly learning piano and singing at the same time. It’s important for singers to also become familiar with note reading, playing and singing simple scales, and singing fun songs. With the assistance of a parent, children as young as 3 or 4 can begin singing and playing the piano.

Do I need a regular piano for classes or will a keyboard be sufficient?

Although it’s great to own an acoustic piano, most keyboards are sufficient for classes. One huge advantage of keyboards is they never need tuning! We do however highly recommend purchasing a keyboard with touch sensitivity and as students progress, it’s best to upgrade to a keyboard with weighted keys which more closely replicates the touch of a regular piano. Also, it’s best to have a keyboard with a pedal if at all possible. Many beginners start with very basic keyboards and upgrade to better instruments as they progress.

How much should my child practice?

Many parents believe they should enforce a very strict practice schedule for their children. For elementary age children, the focus should really be about the number of repetitions rather than thinking in terms of a specific amount of time. We see great results with 2-3 repetitions per song and 2 repetitions of scales and chords, 4-5 days per week. As children get older, the number of reps can be increased which automatically increases the amount of time. More than anything, you want your children to have a positive experience learning, which can last a lifetime.
