Learn piano in the comfort of home!
Rather than watching video lessons, we believe there is no replacement for working with an instructor who can customize the lessons to the student’s learning needs.
Learning music at home also provides a familiar environment for children while supporting musical independence. In no time at all, you will be hearing beautiful music throughout your home!
Share progress with others
Take part in our “living room concerts” where you can play songs for friends and relatives from around the world! It’s exciting to be able to regularly share your accomplishments with others and to gain experience in becoming more comfortable performing.
What Students Will Learn
FAQ
Are online music lessons effective?
As long as the internet connection is adequate on the student side (at least 15 mbps), there is very little difference between online and in-person classes. With our camera angles, excellent audio, patient teachers, and fun curriculum, classes can be just as effective online as they are in person.
What age is best for starting piano lessons?
Some parents and teachers believe that a student needs to be at least 7 years of age to start classes. In our over 30 years of teaching experience, we firmly believe that most students should begin much earlier. We have seen 3 and 4 year-olds learn very effectively with the assistance of a parent. By starting at an even earlier age, students gain many advantages, especially when learning is associated with fun activities.
My young child wants to take singing lessons. What age can children begin singing classes?
We think all children benefit greatly learning piano and singing at the same time. It’s important for singers to also become familiar with note reading, playing and singing simple scales, and singing fun songs. With the assistance of a parent, children as young as 3 or 4 can begin singing and playing the piano.
Do I need a regular piano for classes or will a keyboard be sufficient?
Although it’s great to own an acoustic piano, most keyboards are sufficient for classes. One huge advantage of keyboards is they never need tuning! We do however highly recommend purchasing a keyboard with touch sensitivity and as students progress, it’s best to upgrade to a keyboard with weighted keys which more closely replicates the touch of a regular piano. Also, it’s best to have a keyboard with a pedal if at all possible. Many beginners start with very basic keyboards and upgrade to better instruments as they progress.
How much should my child practice?
Many parents believe they should enforce a very strict practice schedule for their children. For elementary age children, the focus should really be about the number of repetitions rather than thinking in terms of a specific amount of time. We see great results with 2-3 repetitions per song and 2 repetitions of scales and chords, 4-5 days per week. As children get older, the number of reps can be increased which automatically increases the amount of time. More than anything, you want your children to have a positive experience learning, which can last a lifetime.
